Why can't I see a folder in my content library?

Under some circumstances, a folder that you or others created may seem invisible. Let's explain...

To ensure you have optimum control over who can see your slides, content access is governed at file level in Slidebank. That means each file has its own access and editing permissions, meaning each of your users may have different content sets available to them.

As a rule of thumb, if a user doesn't have access to any file in a given folder, the folder itself will be invisible to them. That way, you can get different parts of the business using the same Slidebank account without any unnecessary overlap.

To get the folder to show up for a user, you'll simply need to make one of the files it contains accessible to them. You can see instructions for how to do that here.

If a folder that you created is empty you may also find that it does not show in Slidebank for you until you upload content to it.

You can decide whether to show or hide empty folders

In Slidebank, the option exists to show or hide empty folders in your content library. Hiding empty folders can be a good way to stop you reaching dead ends when you're browsing through the library.

To show or hide empty folders, click on your profile name in the top right corner and select 'Preferences'.

You'll then have the option to show or hide empty folders:

If you deselect 'Show Empty Folders' you'll only be able to browse the folders that contain files you can use.
